In the event of the motorcycle tipping over or a fall, the axle protection pads ensure that the fork, wheel axle and brake system are effectively protected from damage.
The protective pads distance these components from spot or grinding contact with the ground or road, thus reducing or preventing expensive damage to the motorcycle. In addition to the choice of materials, we have integrated two essential, specific properties into the design and tested them in racing: damping and frictional resistance, which progressively increases during the sliding phase.
The cushioning: The first positive feature to be mentioned is the cushioning, which can absorb part or all of the impact energy in the event of sudden forces.
Frictional resistance: The second positive property is frictional resistance, which, due to the component's geometry, increases from the outside inward due to the larger effective sliding surface. This means that our axle protection pad offers only minimal frictional resistance for light contact, but, for example, during prolonged, dragging contact with the road surface, the drag phase is shortened in time and space. This means that in a crash with the axle protection pad, the time the motorcycle slides and the distance itself are shortened.
