If an original engine guard is fitted, its base bracket can be used to install the ULTIMATE ENGINE PROTECTION. Otherwise, please order the ULTIMATE engine protection plate bracket R12 G/S (#26822-012) separately.

Rough’n’tough – the functional integral design of the Wunderlich ULTIMATE engine protection
This ULTIMATE engine protection is also designed in the authentic Tool Design. Its functional design and structural integration protect the engine housing, oil sump as well as the headers with the interference pipe. The three-part construction fits so closely around the engine that not only the frontal exposed area is optimised, but ground clearance and lean angle freedom remain virtually unchanged. The shape of the protection reduces the risk of unpleasant levering or snagging off-road, whether caused by branches, gravel or rocks. Openings ensure that any water absorbed during river crossings can drain away freely.
The angled impact deflectors divert stones or debris thrown up by the front wheel in such a way that the risk of damage to the headers and engine is significantly reduced. Another advantage of this engine protection is that it deflects splash water thrown up turbulently downwards, significantly reducing thermal stress on the engine housing, headers and seals, especially when the engine is hot.
The complex component shape and geometry are the result of optimising material thickness and weight while simultaneously achieving high structural rigidity and mechanical stability. The result is a robust, weight- and form-optimised engine protection that fits so closely and organically around the engine that the design principle of “form follows function” becomes immediately apparent. Where necessary, the fasteners are countersunk, offering no exposed surface and perfectly underlining the adventure look.
The high-quality engine protection is securely bolted at four existing mounting points on the vehicle. External forces and moments are distributed across the mountings to reduce load and moment peaks. Vibrations are effectively absorbed. Typical of Wunderlich, unrestricted accessibility for maintenance work has been ensured: for example, a dedicated opening has been provided to allow unhindered draining of the engine oil.
